Another exceptional, original Machin’s piece, exhibiting not just high technical grade, but also lovely and unusual golden brown color, nice surfaces, sharp detail and a strong balanced strike not often seen on these indifferently made coins.

Very likely a condition census example, with the finest recorded example of V.18-87C just AU50 – and, as noted, the technical grade tells only part of the story with Machin’s coinage.

We’re not sure it’s possible to find a finer piece with as much overall appeal as this one.
