Vlack-14b variety, struck at the Metz mint.
This is a very difficult denomination to find in high grade, as we have only ever seen one example we would consider to be a legitimate unc.
Making this pleasing piece one of the best we know of, and thus an ideal (but still relatively affordable) selection for type.
Pretty well struck for a type that often isn’t, with most of its original silvering remaining, good luster and a bit of pretty golden color in the lettering.
Ex ‘An Illustrated Catalogue of the French Billon Coinage in the Americas’ by Robert A. Vlack, plate #14.
Note that this coin has been verified by CAC.
