KM-285.1 variety, Louis XIV type. Struck at the Paris mint.
A superb example of an issue that we have never seen finer.
Indeed, the representative of this type in Stack’s 2006 sale of the John Ford Collection (the finest offering of French Colonial material ever assembled) was a Dijon-mint issue graded just VF which sold for $1,150 a decade ago.
This one is considerably finer, with totally original surfaces, frosty luster and full silvering on the obverse and reverse.
$1,350
