1720-BB Copper Liard. MS63 BN [PCGS].
By far the finest of this diminutive dime-sized copper denomination we’ve seen, with choice chocolate brown color and mint red lingering in the devices.

1720-A Copper 6 Deniers. MS64 RB [PCGS] Breen Plate Coin.
Listed in the current Redbook as a 6 Deniers, this half cent-sized denomination is sometimes referred to as a 1/2 Sol. And this is an amazing piece. A very scarce coin here offered in unheard of choice uncirculated condition with perhaps 75% of it’s brilliant original mint red remaining. Missing from the Ford sale (perhaps the most comprehensive collection of French Colonial coins ever assembled), we have traced just a couple through the years, including a flawed AU in the Garrett sale (there described as unique), a mis-struck XF in the Banque Du Canada Collection and a lone VF in a good client’s collection. Among the finest early coins we’ve ever handled, and absolutely impossible to replace.

1720-A Copper Sou. MS63 BN [PCGS].
Sometimes referred to as a 12 Deniers, this piece is about the size of an early US large cent. Another stunning 288 year-old copper coin, this with nearly full original luster and traces of original red in the lettering.

1720-A Silver 20 Sols. MS63 [PCGS].
Also referred to as a Livre d’argent fin 1/6 Écu. And this is a beautiful, original piece with lovely old-world toning.

1720-A Silver 1/3 Ecu. MS64 [PCGS].
The larger silver denomination. This is an issue occasionally seen in AU or Unc., often with heavy adjustment marks, but this one is spectacular, with a sharp strike, booming luster, delicate peripheral toning and hardly a mark or spot to be seen.
