This coin remained in the same New England family since the 1920s or 30s when it was received as payment for construction work, then passed through three generations who all had the fortunate foresight not to clean it, mount it in a bezel, drop it, melt it or spend it through all those years.

Continuing that excellent stewardship right up until this year, when the family finally made the carefully considered decision to divest this piece.

At which time Team CRO was delighted to assist and ensure that it remained unconserved and uncorrupted, with superb original golden orange color, suitably crusty and about as nice as one could ever hope to find in this grade range.
