BHM-1977, Eimer-1342 variety, struck in Bronze. 52mm.
An historic and quite scarce medal struck to commemorate the “GENERAL ANTI-SLAVERY CONVENTION HELD IN LONDON 1840.” with the classic kneeling slave symbol of the British Anti-Slavery Society on one side, and a bust of Society President Thomas Clarkson on the other.
The piece itself is the finest we’ve seen of this issue, with lovely chocolate brown color and choice, lustrous surfaces.
