An extremely impressive, large scale medal with a Standing Ms. Liberty on the obverse bestowing wreaths upon a kneeling Industry and Art with the legend IN COMMEMORATION OF THE HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE. ACT OF CONGRESS JUNE 1874.

The reverse shows Liberty with a sword with rays above and a circle of 13 stars surrounded by the legend THESE UNITED COLONIES ARE, AND OF RIGHT OUGHT TO BE, FREE AND INDEPENDENT STATES.

And this is a nice chestnut brown piece with reflective fields.
