Y# A25.3 variety, struck in the 38th year of the Meiji era (1905).
This is the first Japanese coin we’ve offered and frankly it’s about time, since your author lived there back in his pre-numismatic days as is evidenced by plenty of old photos of me in Osaka wearing a yukata which I have absolutely no intention of showing anyone.
I will however show this totally cool issue with a mean dragon on the obverse, the denomination on the reverse and with exactly the look we always seek (i.e. totally original, with lovely old toning in classic shades of 青 and ゴールド色).
