KM-566 variety, George II type.
A neat issue with the unfortunate (for the engraver) GEOGIVS misspelling in the obverse legend, a very scarce error which is priced in the Krause guide at $1,150 in MS60.
And this is an absolutely fantastic Choice Unc. example with as much mint red remaining as we have ever seen on any coin from the decade of the 1730s in this series.
Ex Colin Cooke’s sale of the Basil Nicholson Collection where it was described as "Possibly the finest example in existence with this much luster. Extremely rare thus.", earlier Ex Dr. Terry Aitken (Canada), earlier Hopetown House, Spink March 1989 Coin Auction 68, lot #603.
