Martin 2.2-C.1, W-1260 variety. Described on the PCGS label as a “regular” UTILE DULCI type, but this piece appears to us to have been gilt, as it displays a vibrant golden yellow color unlike a typical Rosa.
We can’t say when or why this would have been done, but it appears to be of considerable age, as the gold has mellowed slightly.
The only one we’ve ever seen like this, choice and certainly striking in appearance.
