KM-49 variety, Charles III type.  Noted as the ‘JR Large’ assayer’s initials on the PCGS slab label, though more accurately this is a Small J, Large R variety.  Struck at the Potosi mint.

One of just a small handful of nice mint state Pillar 4Rs we’ve found in 20+ years of diligent searching.

With a sharp strike, original surfaces, colorful toning in the devices and a neat die break at the upper obverse suggesting this die could not have been in use much longer.
