Noe-1, Salmon 1-A, W-430 variety, IN at Left Redbook type. Considered to be Rarity-3. 71.6 grains.
In our opinion the definitive Oak Tree Shilling variety with its well balanced designed and skillful engraving, and thus always a popular selection for type. But hardly an easy thing to find in pleasing condition, as many survivors are cleaned and impaired, and/or poorly made, unevenly struck or oddly shaped.
Making this lovely, original, old-toned and nicely round piece an especially desirable example.
Ex Stack’s April 1954 sale of the Davis-Graves Collection, lot #1.
