BD-6 variety, considered to be Rarity-6 with perhaps 30 known in all grades.
This variety was formerly called the "Small 8", but is now deemed the "Normal 8" (which seems more logical given that the other "8" is clearly larger than it should be, and this one appears to be of the expected size). Do you know what I mean?
In any case, this is a cool coin and a relatively affordable example of this popular type.
Pleasing golden color, nice surfaces and no really meaningful marks or spots to note – just the characteristic die break in the right obverse field, the desirable 1700’s date and a charming, old-time look.
