Nothing less than one of the most spectacular pieces we’ve ever offered, here we have a lovely, original example of one of the early proof coins struck at the US mint.  Rare too, with perhaps 20 known in all grades, few of which could match this piece for overall appeal.

And this is a very popular issue; the first year of steam coinage and the first year of this two-year, Capped Bust, Reeded Edge type.

Totally original, with deeply mirrored fields, strongly contrasting devices and lovely blue and golden toning all adding up to what we at CRO refer to as a “One-Coin Coin Collection”.
